“When planning a family outing, I use the service to get tips on what we love to see and do. I make bookings, get directions and save everything to my iome itinerary. I share this with our friends who meet up with us along the way. It makes planning so much easier!” Linda

 Clients & partners

iome works with consumer-facing brands, multi-outlet retailers, retail property owners, leisure, travel and transportation companies, network providers, publishers, digital marketing consultancies, marketers and advertisers.

Examples include:

BT My Place

Working with BT and Westminster City Council, iome launched the World's first location-centric digital lifestyle service for residents, commuters, tourists and business travellers to London. The service combines location and personalisation to dynamically deliver relevant content and advertising to consumers on-the-move.

Chris Bruce, General Manager, BT Openzone: "Unlike a classic city guide, BT MyPlace is personalised to your interests and location. Because it is delivered over the BT Openzone outdoor Wi-Fi network it also offers a faster and more reliable internet service that can be accessed on thousands of devices."

Cllr Colin Barrow, Leader of Westminster Council: "This service will not only help people find their way around our city but also direct them towards local businesses that they otherwise would not have known about. We are taking some important steps towards becoming the best managed city in the World in time for 2012 and this joint project with BT is further evidence to support this goal."

Independent

Independent News & Media has partnered with iome to launch their white-labelled version of Plotstar on The Independent newspaper's website. The service creates new web and mobile revenues for the publisher, as part of its 2010 digital media strategy.

The free-to-access service provides the 10 million monthly visitors to the Independent's website with a tool to plan their social lives and make savings whilst The Independent generates new revenues, on purchases made through the portal (such as theatre tickets and restaurant bookings) in addition to advertising and sponsorship. And, by partnering with iome, the Independent went to market with its new branded service in less than three weeks from inception of the project.

Bill Swanson, managing director (Digital), Independent News and Media (UK) said: "We are very excited to be the first business to launch this service in the UK. It not only enables us to extend our reach to readers, but also to create new revenues via web and mobile. We recognise that consumers are hungry for new ways to organise their social lives through the web – this service is the first of its kind to enable people to organise themselves, make savings and interact with friends in a single location. Plus, the service has the ability to learn behaviour including likes and dislikes, giving us the opportunity to deliver highly targeted services and offers. This is a significant step forward with our digital media strategy for 2010."

Wicoms

Wicoms, the digital entertainment services company, has partnered with iome to deliver the social event planning tool to its customers in the UK leisure and hospitality industry. The iome Plotstar service is accessible via Wicoms' WiFi and entertainment networks in a wide range of leisure locations, including holiday and leisure parks, stadiums, hotels and conference venues.

The service will reach a combined community of over 50 million consumers annually who reside at Wicom's customer sites, including Pontins and the Camping and Caravanning Club of Great Britain. The Plotstar service is individually branded for each Wicoms customer, in order to match their existing corporate look and feel.

Simon Rendell, Chairman, Wicoms said: "The iome Plotstar white-labelled service is a perfect fit for us. It enables us to offer our customers a new service that will deliver real benefits to their customers. For us, the decision to partner with iome was a no-brainer. Plotstar is offered free of charge and roll-out to our customers will take place very quickly. Plus, we all benefit from being able to generate new revenues through the service on purchases made in addition to advertising and sponsorship. It's a win-win for all concerned."
